Legal Notice CITY OF MENTOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) 2nd PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE | REQUEST FOR COMMENT PROGRAM YEAR (PY) 2026 PROPOSED PROJECTS On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, 3 p.m., a public meeting will be held in council chambers, 8500 Civic Center Boulevard, Mentor, Ohio for the purpose of community input on the proposed distribution of a PY 2026 $164,757 allocation from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) CDBG program. Comments will be received until Friday, July 31, 2026, 5 p.m. PY 2026 Action Plan PUBLIC SERVICES: (15% of award) $24,713.55 Lifeline 2-1-1, assist operation of a Lake County call center for persons in crisis ($5,000); Project Hope, assist with the operation of Lake County’s only homeless shelter ($4,500); Mentor Senior Center, Special Elders, assist elderly individuals with mobility issues ($6,213); Forbes House, assist Lake County’s only domestic abuse shelter with teen outreach ($3,500); Lake County Free Clinic, assist providing free medical care to current and former low-moderate income (LMI) residents of Mentor ($5,500). PROJECTS: $107,092.45 Western Reserve Community Development Corporation, assist funding a single-family housing rehabilitation program in Mentor ($60,000); Mentor Recreation Department ADA pool lift ($15,000); Mentor Senior Center, assist with replacing flooring in the art room ($6,092.45), Lake County United Way, Mentor, assist with office carpet replacement ($4,000), City of Mentor Public Information Office, purchase streaming sticks for public distribution to LMI residents ($2,000); MEACO (Mentor Economic Assistance Corporation), provide low-interest loans to qualified area businesses ($20,000).
