Legal Notice Form No. 124-B Prescribed by the Secretary of State (01-2026) Notice of Election on Qualifying Tax Levy by School District in Excess of the Ten Mill Limitation R.C. 3501.11(G), 5705.17, 5705.25 Notice is hereby given that in pursuance of a Resolution of the Lorain City School District of Lorain, Ohio, passed on the 2nd day of February, 2026, there will be submitted to a vote of the people at the Primary/Special Election to be held at the regular places of voting on Tuesday, the 5th day of May, 2026, the question of levying a tax, in excess of the ten mill limitation, which shall be an additional tax for the benefit of Lorain City School District for the purpose of current expenses at a rate not exceeding 11 mills for each $1 of taxable value, which amounts to $385 for each $100,000 of the county auditor’s market value, for a continuing period of time. The estimated annual collections of this levy is $10,637,320. The carry-over balance in the district’s general operating budget from the preceding fiscal year exceeds the district’s general fund expenditures in the amount of $0, which is 0% of expenditures.
