Legal Notice NOTICE TO BIDDERS Sealed bids will be received by the City of Avon Lake (the City) until October 17, 2025 at 10:00 AM at City Hall, 150 Avon Belden Road, Avon, Ohio 44012, and will be opened and read publicly immediately thereafter, for the following project: Outfall Rehabilitation – Edgewood Drive City of Avon Lake Lorain County, Ohio In accordance with the Plans and Specifications prepared by KS Associates, the project consists of furnishing all labor, materials, tools and equipment required for rehabilitation of the outfall at the northern terminus of Edgewood Drive in Avon Lake, Ohio, including demolition of the existing outfall pipe and supports, clearing and tree removal, construction of a new reinforced, concrete headwall and side walls, installation of a new steel pipe with gravel bedding and fill, construction of a new armor stone revetment, construction of a new steel access staircase with reinforced concrete landing and foundations, and site restoration. Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained from City of Avon Lake, Ohio at 150 Avon Belden Road beginning September 25, 2025 at 9:00 AM and during regular business hours, thereafter. Cost of Contract Documents are Thirty Dollars ($30.00). Checks are to be made payable to the City of Avon Lake and are non-refundable. A Pre-Bid Meeting will be held on October 3, 2025 at 9:00 AM at Avon Lake City Hall, 150 Avon Belden Road, Avon Lake, Ohio 44012. It is advisable that bidders attend the Pre-Bid Meeting. The City of Avon Lake is a governmental agency, exempt from any Local, State and Federal sales taxes. Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid Security furnished in Bond form, shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said Surety. Each proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity. All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will to the extent practicable use Ohio products, materials, service and labor in the implementation of their project. Additionally, contractor compliance with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative code Chapter 123 is required. The owner intends and requires that the project be completed by no later than September 25, 2026. Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Lorain County, Ohio as determined by the Ohio Department of Commerce, Bureau of Wage and Hour Administration, (614) 644-2239. If the City determines to award the contract, the City will award it based on the lowest and best bid as determined in the discretion of the City. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities therein.
