Legal Notice NOTICE TO BIDDERS Sealed bids will be received by the City Avon Lake (the City) until May 21, 2026 at 2:00 PM at City Hall, 150 Avon Belden Road, Avon Lake, Ohio 44012, and will be opened and read publicly immediately thereafter, for the following project: 2026 Pavement Crack Sealing Program City of Avon Lake Lorain County, Ohio The proposed work shall consist of the cleaning preparation and filling/over banding of pavement cracks with a hot-applied crack sealant material to seal pavement cracks/joints and other necessary appurtenances on certain City streets and City owned properties in the City of Avon Lake, Ohio, all in accordance with the specifications and contractual requirements now on file in the office of the Public Works Department. All labor, material, equipment, machinery. apparatus, and tools needed shall be provided by the bidder. The City of Avon Lake reserves the right to add or delete road segments as necessary to fulfill the plan intent and stay within budgetary constraints. Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained from City of Avon Lake, Ohio at 150 Avon Belden Road beginning May 7, 2026 at 9:00 AM and during regular business hours, thereafter. Cost of Contract Documents are Twenty Five Dollars ($25.00). Checks are to be made payable to the City of Avon Lake and are non-refundable. The City of Avon Lake is a governmental agency, exempt from any Local, State and Federal sales taxes. Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid Security furnished in Bond form, shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said Surety. Each proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity. All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will to the extent practicable use Ohio products, materials, service and labor in the implementation of their project. Additionally, contractor compliance with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative code Chapter 123 is required. The owner intends and requires that the project be completed by no later than September 25, 2026. Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Lorain County, Ohio as determined by the Ohio Department of Commerce, Bureau of Wage and Hour Administration, (614) 644-2239. If the City determines to award the contract, the City will award it based on the lowest and best bid as determined in the discretion of the City. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities therein.
