Legal Notice Notice to Contractors THE BROWNHELM TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES will accept sealed bids from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm on June 8, 2026 at the Township Hall, 1940 N Ridge Rd, Vermilion, OH 44089, or by special arrangements made with the Fiscal Officer by calling 440-371-4160 from 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. The bids are for the furnishing of all labor, material, and equipment for the Sperry Road, T.R.-67 Roadway & Erosion Improvements in Brownhelm Township, Lorain County, using various materials in accordance with specifications prepared by the office of Ken Carney, Lorain County Engineer. All interested parties are welcome to attend the bid opening to be held at 6:15 p.m. at the Brownhelm Township Hall, 1940 N. Ridge Rd, Vermilion, OH on June 8, 2026. All materials and equipment must meet the specifications of the Ohio Department of Transportation and shall include all necessary barricades, signs, lights, watchmen, etc., and work performed shall be under the supervision of the Lorain County Engineer and Brownhelm Township. All contractors involved with this project will, to the extent practicable, use Ohio products, materials, services and labor in the implementation of this project. Bidders shall submit a list of equipment available and labor shall be paid not less than the prevailing wage rate as determined by the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, Wage and Hour Division. Bidders are hereby notified that funds to be expended for this project are being furnished by the Ohio Public Works Commission and Brownhelm Township. Specifications can be obtained at the office of the Lorain County Engineer, 247 Hadaway Street, Elyria, OH 44035, between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. A non-refundable deposit of $50 is required for each set of bidding specification documents. Bids must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier’s Check, or Letter of Credit equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, or a bond for the full amount of the bid, as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into and a contract bond properly secured. Should any bid be rejected, such instrument will be forthwith returned upon proper execution of a contract. Each bid shall contain the full name or names of persons and company submitting the bid and shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope marked “Sperry Road, T.R.-67 Roadway & Erosion Improvements”. The Board of Township Trustees reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities, if it is deemed to be in the best interest of Brownhelm Township to do so.
